I started this site with no real plan of where I wanted to go with it, and it shows. I registered the domain name over a year ago with every intention of learning how to design a website, but the weeks turned into months and here I am at last - reduced to using a "shake and bake" tool from Google to put something on line that is more than just a placeholder.
As you might guess, "villageidiotsavant" gives a shout out to those moments in life when a person reaches past her/his typical operating level of intelligence and parts that sheer-but-tangible veil through which we experience our world and stumbles upon clarity - keen and sharp like a glorious, bright morning.
It's my opinion that this clarity wouldn't be nearly so remarkable without the contrasting moments where the veil parts only to reveal the thick and murky dullness of a starless night, where you can't gauge the distance between yourself and everything else, nor can you see the movement of your own hand in front of your face.
More on this later. For now, let's take a vocabulary-building break, courtesy of Google gadgets...

I live and work in Durham, North Carolina. If you've ever flown into the nearby airport you might think there is a city called "Raleigh-Durham," but Durham is a city unto itself with a distinct history and a personality unlike any other city I've experienced. Durham is a lot of things, but one thing it isn't is Raleigh.
